Garrett Huffman Headlines Opening Night of Taste of Charlotte

Rising Country Star Premieres Upcoming Single on “Positively Charlotte”

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — North Carolina native and rising country music sensation Garrett Huffman kicked off the 2025 Taste of Charlotte festival in style as his band headlined the event’s highly anticipated opening night.

Ahead of the performance, Garrett appeared on WJZY’s “Positively Charlotte” to share his personal journey and offer fans an exclusive preview of his upcoming single, “Born in the Carolinas,” which is set for release at the end of June.

Only 21 years old, Huffman has rapidly built a name for himself in the country music scene. What began as a personal passion—teaching himself guitar during the COVID-19 pandemic—has grown into a full-fledged career, with shows booked months in advance and growing regional acclaim.

Huffman’s accolades include being named the 2023 Carolina Country Music Association (CMA) Entertainer of the Year, with continued recognition through 2024 and 2025 nominations for Male Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.

In addition to headlining regional festivals, Huffman has opened for country legend Josh Turner, secured a brand partnership with Pepsi, and now records regularly in Nashville, all while staying connected to his Carolina roots.

“I’m incredibly grateful to be where I am today,” Huffman said during the WJZY interview. “This new song, ‘Born in the Carolinas,’ really reflects who I am and where I come from. I can’t wait to share it with everyone.”
